It’s Mental Health Awareness Week.

What do you do to take care of your mental health?

I pay attention to the messages my body is sending me. For example I might notice that my eyes feel strained or my shoulders are hunched and beginning to ache.

So I stop, take a conscious breath and look away from my computer or smart phone. If I’m in my home office, a client’s office or another venue I make a point of getting up and walking in nature.

This could be my garden, the commons or church yard on the way to the station, an office terrace or balcony or one of the green spaces between the tower blocks in the City.

If I can’t go out into nature, even just looking at greenery helps to calm and revive me.

Taking care of my mental health is not an indulgence. It is essential to my leadership and ability to assist others.

If you are feeling:

➢ overwhelmed by the many responsibilities of your role

➢ challenged by the multiple and differing perspectives of your team members

➢ overcommitting to assignments and tasks

and would like to have a conversation with me about how to become a more calm and effective leader call me on +44 (0) 7952 068133 or write to sylvana@sylvanacaloni.com
