When I was an equities fund manager I was interviewed by a national newspaper. I was asked, “Is success due to process or to people”? I responded that they were not mutually exclusive. Indeed, it is people who design and create processes. Having spent many years analysing investments and speaking to C-suite executives I observed companies that sustained profitable businesses had leaders who took a stand, created a vision, inspired and engaged their employees to execute their strategies and humbly credited their success to the support of their employees. These leaders created work environments where people had a voice, could make a contribution, could take judicious risks and were proud to work for their company.
As an Executive Vice President at Bankers Trust Financial Group, my company invested in me and I was privileged to partner with an executive coach. This engagement opened my eyes. Now as a leadership consultant and myself a leader of various organisations, I am committed to playing my part in enabling you to create environments where values are respected, contributions acknowledged and the impact of your company on your communities and society are recognised.
My clients range from employees designated as high potential or placed on their organisation’s promotion track to very senior executives and business owners. I also partner with individuals who are motivated and self fund their engagements to improve their leadership and communication abilities.
Some of my clients are in the financial services sector. They value my 15 years professional experience at Bankers Trust Financial Group in the roles of fixed interest dealer, equity analyst, fund manager and head of global sector groups.
Some clients are drawn by the rigour of my training and synthesis of different approaches and styles. If you would like more detail on my corporate background and professional expertise you can read my article “My win, your loss” or the Zero Sum Game: The Mind-set of Financial Markets Executives. IJCO, 2009, 7(4).
I put my clients at ease whilst challenging their accepted norms and constraints. This allows them to create new business relationships and visions.
